Enhancing Quality Education: College of Computer Studies Concludes Curriculum Review 2025

The College of Computer Studies recently wrapped up a crucial two-day review of its curriculum, syllabus, and Table of Specification (TOS)/rubric for 2025. This initiative aims to elevate the quality of education by aligning the curriculum with industry needs and best practices, ultimately benefiting students.

Day 1: Setting the Stage for Excellence

Led by the esteemed Dean Rosel O. Onesa, MIT, the review brought together dedicated Program Chairs from various departments:

  • BSCS: Tiffany Lyn O. Pandes, MSc.
  • BSIT: Philip Alger M. Serrano, MIT
  • BSIS: Jonuel Rey N. Colle, MIS
  • BLIS: Ime Amor A. Mortel, RL, MLS

The review process also benefited from valuable contributions from representatives of different stakeholders, including:

  • Parent Representative
  • Student Representative
  • Alumni Representative
  • Industry Representative

Their collective input ensures that the curriculum is comprehensive, relevant, and industry-aligned.

Day 2: Refining Syllabus Format for Accreditation Readiness

The second day of the review focused on refining the syllabus format to meet the standards of the PCS Information and Computing Accreditation Board (PICAB) and ASEAN University Network (AUN). Special thanks to CCS Accreditation Coordinator Shiela Dona S. Manlapaz, MIT, for her leadership in ensuring the programs meet the highest accreditation standards.
