IRIGA CITY – In a powerful display of institutional partnership and commitment to public service enhancement, a team of experts from Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) – College of Computer Studies (CCS) successfully conducted a Comprehensive Computer Literacy Training for the personnel of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) – Camarines Sur Irrigation Management Office (IMO) District II (RIIS) last Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

The full-day training session, held at the NIA-RIIS Office in Barangay Sta. Elena, was designed to equip NIA employees with the essential digital skills needed to navigate the modern workplace, thereby boosting their efficiency and overall productivity.

The training kicks off as personnel from NIA-RIIS and the expert team from CSPC gather for the Comprehensive Computer Literacy Training.

A Partnership For Progress

The initiative began with a formal request from Engr. Hilario P. Gorgonia, Acting Head of NIA District II (CRIS-RIIS), to Dr. Amado A. Oliva Jr., SUC President III of CSPC. In a letter dated August 28, 2025, NIA highlighted the need to empower their staff with enhanced technical proficiency in fundamental computer operations to improve workplace efficiency.

Recognizing the crucial role NIA plays in the region’s agricultural sector, CSPC, under its strong extension services mandate, readily answered the call. The collaboration underscores CSPC’s position not just as a leading academic institution in the Bicol region but also as a dedicated partner in community and national development.

Enhancing Public Service Through Technology

The participants from NIA-RIIS were actively engaged throughout the hands-on sessions, expressing their appreciation for the practical and relevant knowledge shared. The skills acquired are expected to translate directly into faster, more accurate, and more efficient public service delivery to the farmers and communities that NIA serves.

This successful event serves as a testament to what can be achieved when government agencies and academic institutions collaborate. By investing in its people, NIA-RIIS is investing in a more productive future, and with partners like CSPC, they are ensuring their team is well-equipped for the challenges ahead.
