Serving the Community Through Technology: CCS Provides Tabulation Assistance for the Search for Miss Malawag 2026
March 18, 2026 | Barangay Malawag Covered Court, Nabua, Camarines Sur

In line with its commitment to extension and community service, the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) successfully conducted a tabulation assistance activity for the Search for Miss Malawag 2026. Held on the evening of March 18, 2026, at the Barangay Malawag Covered Court in Nabua, Camarines Sur, the activity brought together faculty members and staff who served as the official tabulation committee for the pageant.

The activity was initiated in response to a request from Barangay Malawag for technical assistance in ensuring an efficient, accurate, and credible scoring process for their annual pageant. Recognizing the need for a reliable tabulation mechanism, the College of Computer Studies offered the use of the Multi-Event Tabulation System (METASys), a digital tabulation tool developed by CCS Developers.
METASys was deployed to replace manual computation, significantly reducing the risk of human error and expediting the announcement of results. The system provided real-time updates and automated score computation, upholding the integrity and transparency of the event from start to finish.

The tabulation activity commenced at 5:00 PM and extended until 1:00 AM the following morning, spanning the full duration of the pageant. The event was led by Ms. Jocelyn T. Lipata, the designated Activity Leader, who oversaw coordination and ensured that all logistical and documentary requirements were met.
The METASys system was configured and managed by Mr. Carlo Panizal and Mr. Sammy M. Saniel, who ensured that the system parameters were aligned with the judging criteria and guidelines set by the pageant organizers. The facilitation team, composed of Ms. Ichelle F. Baluis, Ms. Maica De Loyola Bagaporo, Mr. Ian P. Benitez, and Mr. Freddie B. Prianes, provided on-ground support throughout the event.
The participants of the activity included the Miss Malawag candidates, the panel of judges, and the pageant organizers from Barangay Malawag.

The deployment of METASys during the Search for Miss Malawag 2026 yielded several notable benefits:
- Accuracy of Results. Automated calculations reduced the possibility of human error in scoring, contributing to fair and credible results.
- Efficiency in Processing. The speed of the digital tabulation system enabled a faster turnaround in the announcement of results, keeping the program flowing smoothly.
- Transparency and Integrity. Real-time score processing allowed for consistent and verifiable results throughout the competition.
Beyond the immediate outcomes, the activity exemplified the practical application of information and communications technology in community-based programs, demonstrating how academic institutions can meaningfully contribute to local governance and cultural events.
The tabulation assistance activity for the Search for Miss Malawag 2026 stands as a testament to the College of Computer Studies’ dedication to serving beyond the classroom. By leveraging institutional expertise and technology, CSPC-CCS not only fulfilled the technical needs of Barangay Malawag but also reinforced the university’s role as a partner in community development.
The success of this activity affirms the college’s continuing commitment to the Extension and Community Services agenda of Technical Assistance and Community Outreach, and its resolve to utilize technology as a bridge between academic learning and genuine community impact.
This activity was conducted under the Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, College of Computer Studies, as part of its community outreach programs for Academic Year 2025-2026.
