Information Technology

The BS Information Technology program includes the study of the utilization of both hardware and software technologies involving planning, installing, customizing, operating, managing and administering, and maintaining information technology infrastructure that provides computing solutions to address the needs of an organization.

Program Educational Objectives:

BSIT Graduates are expected to demonstrate the following set of educational objectives after two (2) years:

  1. Apply and demonstrate computing skills in developing, implementing, and maintaining computer-based systems evident in their profession;
  2. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate at a team level and the public at large;
  3. Exhibit exemplary behavior, conscious of social and environmental responsibility through active professional engagement; and
  4. Engage in lifelong learning for personal and professional development.

Program Outcomes

  1. Understand best practices and standards and their application
  2. Identify and analyze user needs and take them into account in the selection, creation, evaluation, and administration of computer-based systems
  3. Design, implement, and evaluate computer-based systems, processes, components, or programs to meet desired needs and requirements under various constraints.
  4. Integrate IT-based solutions into the user environment effectively.
  5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a development team recognizing the different roles within a team to accomplish a common goal
  6. Assist in the creation of an effective IT project plan
