CCS students enter START Hackathon finals 

TechKido, the entry team from Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) has successfully qualified for the finals of START Hackaton 2022, which was organized by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) – Center for Strategic Futures.

The hackathon’s theme, “Innovative Solutions Towards Smart and Creative Communities,” aims to inspire participants to find original approaches and solutions to the various problems and difficulties LGUs confront as they work to establish smart cities.

The team TechKido was comprised of Eichelle Vicente, the team’s project manager; Craig Ben Cadag , the back-end developer; and Luc Charl Dato, the front-end developer. Both are 3rd year BSIT students. They also have Zirah Mae Guadalupe and Marieton Ramizares, the team’s data researchers, who are 2nd-year BSIS students. Maricris Ramizares and Kezia Abegail Velasco, both masters in information technology, coached the team.

The top 10 finalists will get the chance to compete and bag a prize of PhP 50,000 pesos cash and PhP 100,000 seed funding for R&D, and an opportunity for their solution to be adopted by the partner Local Government Unit (LGU) on September 13-15, 2022 at the DAP CC Tagaytay.
